Maroochydore City Centre - $2.1 Billion
An entirely new 53 hectare CBD is currently being developed in the heart of busy Maroochydore (on a reclaimed former golf course), which will dramatically modernise the face of business and provide adequate space for economic growth. Forecast to service a wider catchment of over two million people by 2030, the Maroochydore City centre has been declared a Priority Development Area by the Queensland Government.

The facility is planned to support the functioning of the new university hospitals.
Aura (Caloundra South) - $5 Billion
The new master planned community south of Caloundra will be established on 2,310 hectares. Aura is the largest residential development project in Australia at this time and when completed, will provide approximately 20,000 dwellings to house a population of around 50,000 people. Community focused facilities such as mixed-use activity centres will be established providing access to retail, services, civic spaces, community and cultural facilities, plus deliver local employment opportunities. Located at the Southern end of the Sunshine Coast, the development will also be an attractive option for commuters to Brisbane.
Health Campus - $1.8 Billion
Incorporating the already operational $1.8 billion Sunshine Coast University Hospital, the Sunshine Coast Health Campus also includes the Sunshine Coast Health Institute (skills, academic and research centre). The campus meets growing regional demand for larger and more modern hospital facilities. Currently servicing an estimated 450 beds and 3,000 staff, the hospital is expected to grow to approximately 738 beds and 4,600 staff by 2021.
Palmview Precinct - $4.5 Billion
Spanning more than 360 hectares, Palmview is a $4.5 billion master-planned community which is planned to be completed over the next 20 years. Construction will see over 7,000 new dwellings developed to house over 17,000 people. The new community will include a 15,000m2 centrally located District activity Centre with a traditional main street layout, a town park of 3 hectares, civic plazas, a transit station, a district community facility, two Local activity Centres of 3,500m2 each and a 20,000m2 Local Employment area Precinct.
Bruce Highway Expansion - $930 Million
Recognising the booming population in the region, plus major developments underway, the Queensland Government are upgrading the Bruce Highway to 6 lanes between Caloundra Road and the Sunshine Motorway.
Glenview Water Theme Park - $400 Million
Construction is planned to commence soon on a $400m theme park (off the Steve Irwin Way ) which includes Australia’s first surfing wave pool.
Sunshine Plaza Expansion - $350 Million
The Sunshine Coast’s largest shopping Centre will add a further 37,000m2 to the centre and include a new David Jones Department Store, 1,500 more car spaces, and a further 120 specialty stores. To meet growing public transport needs, a major public transport upgrade outside the Plaza has also been completed.
Aviation & Aerospace Precinct - $347 Million
This major expansion of the Sunshine Coast Airport, will allow for expansion to cater for more domestic and international links, plus facilitate new freight capabilities and deliver more direct access to global markets. The Sunshine Coast Airport currently services approximately 1 million passengers annually, with that figure planned to rise considerably with the expanded facilities in place.
Bokarina Beach Project - $174 Million
The new development sits upon one of the few beachside pockets of land available on one of Queensland’s most popular stretches of beach. The beachside community and mixed-use development is located approximately one kilometre from the Oceanside Precinct at Kawana and within close proximity of Kawana Shopping Centre. The new beachside development will provide high quality, mixed-use residential, retail, tourism and recreational spaces, with public beach access and cafes, restaurants, tourism accommodation, parkland, a new surf lifesaving club and community facilities.
